Horrible customer service. They kept my money for 5 weeks before finally telling me that they are out of stock and won’t be shipping my item anymore. I really don’t know how they are still in business. I signed up just to give them the bad ratings that they deserve.

I purchased a motherboard from Buy.com on 2/17/07 and paid through google checkout. My credit card was charged immediately. Three days later they tell me it is out of stock. I check the website, yep the item is still listed as in stock. So I send them an e-mail the following day and ask for the status. The following day they tell me it is in fulfillment. So I wait two more days and send another e-mail asking for the status of my order. Following day they tell me the item is in the process of being shipped. So I wait two more days and ask again for the status. They do not respond within 48 hours so I cancel my order. Five days later and three more e-mails and they finally give my my $ back. What a hassle for nothing! I will never buy from them again.

Buy dot com cannot be trusted. In early 2007, they offered several Connect3D products as “free” after rebate. After six months, Connect3D is failing to pay these rebates and Buy dot com is giving their customers the run-around. They started issuing refunds to the first customers that complained. When they became overwhelmed with complaints, they stopped paying. Don’t forget, this was an exclusive Buy dot com and Connect3D rebate which greatly increased sales for Buy. Buy dot com took all the profits and let their customers unknowingly assume all the risk…. Buy dot com does not seem to care about their customers.

Buy.com sent an email about a 2GB USB drive for free after rebates. The product price was higher than similar items but with the rebate was quite attractive. Rebate was accepted but was not paid out. On query Buy.com sent an email explaining they had the power to bypass rebate center and send refund but were refusing to do so. Apparently they had initialy refunded a few customers but were no longer willing to do so as there were many people having problems. Buy.com will not stand behind their rebate offers if there are problems. However, Buy.com is happy to keep the extra money they got from a higher than average priced item.

My first (and last) order with Buy.com has been horrible. They offered a free-after-rebate promotion, only to leave me hanging in the wind. It’s been five months since I submitted my rebate, but I still haven’t gotten mine yet. Buy.com won’t help me in any way, and they simply choose to ignore my emails. I have to say I won’t deal anymore with a company that treats its customers as bad as this.

    Buy.com just another rebate scammer

Buy.com sent me a email back in January promoting a Connect3D 2GB Secure Digital Card. The price was $50 with a $50 rebate. Advertised as free after rebate. I took the bait and now im out $50.
Apparently Connect 3D was pulling in all the cash they could before they went out of business. Buy.com seems to feel they have no obligation to step up and honor the rebate they had heavily promoted.
Emails to Buy.com Customer Service are unanswered. Calls to their Customer Service results in getting the run a round.
If you buy anything from Buy.com that has a rebate, you should take into consideration that you may not receive the rebate.

On 1/26/07 I purchased a Connect3D 2 gigabyte USB drive from Buy.com for $50.00. This purchase was made contingent upon a $50 manufacturer’s rebate, which should have been issued in April, 2007. Buy.com represented that the rebate was to be made, and even provided a link to the rebate form on their website.

After numerous attempts by phone, mail, and e-mail to both the manufacturer and Buy.com, no action has been taken. I have been informed that Connect3D is now out of business, and as I understand the FTC rules regarding rebates (the CompUSA case in particular) Buy.com is liable for the rebate payment to me.

To date, after many attempts buy phone and e-mail, Buy.com has not paid me, but has offered a $10 coupon. I view their actions as despicable. As I understand it, several other vendors were caught when Connect3D closed business, and they stood by their customers.
