I have ordered from Circuit City a couple times. These rare occasions where I need the item NOW and they happen to be cheaper than Best Buy, CompUSA, or Microcenter. Very rare.The first time I ordered was a disaster. I used that “In Store” pickup option. Went to the store, waited about an hour because they “couldn’t find” it. The computer said they had several in stock… but they couldn’t find a single one.

Then some guy said they must all of been shoplifted. This was an iPaq. So it was a waste of time and drive.

The next was a Toshiba Satelite Tablet PC. They actually were cheaper than ordering it online. And I still qualified for Toshiba’s extended warranty, so I didn’t have to fuss with Circuit Cities extended warranty.

This time it was right and ready to go.

So…1 for 2.

Ordered Palm TX on the web site with a web-only $75 rebate. It was out of stock online, but was listed as available at a store 25 miles away. I left work early to pick it up, but it was out of stock. I took their $24 gift card as they advertised if it wasn’t ready in 24 minutes (it was actually 10 hours since receiving the confirmation email). The teenagers behind the counter mumbled half-hearted apologies, then seemed impatient for me to clear out of the way of other customers.

I ordered a Kingston PC2700 512MB DDR memory chip for an older PC. It was on sale and had a rebate. Everything came on time and it worked fine. The Circuit City website for tracking your order is slow and does not seem to be updated often enough. It was decent purchase, but the order tracking website needs some work.

The website looks real proffesional but these people suck. I called to cancel my order after it taking my order to long to ship, and after reading the reviews on this site. The person I talked to on the phone was very rude. Avoid ordering from these people and go with another website like woofersetc.com and no I do not work for them.

These guys are the most dishonest bunch I ever ran across on the internet.
Ordered subs on the 17th. They sent me a email with a tracking number stating the subs were shipped on the 19th.
UPS indicated that billing info received, BUT NOTHING WAS EVER SENT!!! Customer service acted confused and promised a call back. That was 10 days ago. I had to file a chargeback to get my money back.
These people are scam artists and if you order from them you deserve everything that you get.
I hope someone puts them out of business.

My comment is in regard to the Magnolia section of Best Buy only. I had a previous bad experience when buying an XBOX 360 at Best Buy, but this time the service was way above the usual.

First, the attention and care displayed by the salesperson and administrative/finance girl were above any expectation. The salesguy really listened to my needs. The financing process was easy and amicable.

Still, since I walked out spending more than 3 times what I was expecting (kudos to the salesperson) I had buyer’s remorse. That, until I talked to a good friend that works in the industry that told me what a good deal I did.

But, for personal reasons, all the boxes sit in my house for 6 weeks. And when I unpacked, the Pioneer Elite 50″ screen was broken in 3 places!

So, 6 weeks later I walk into the store believing that this would be a real nightmare. And guess what? I didn’t finish explaining it when the girl asked me if all I wanted to do was to exchange by the same model. YES! And 15 minutes later I was loading the car with the exchanged TV.

Today I started installing everything. The TV is done. And let me tell you, the combination of a DISH HD DVR with the Pioneer Elite 50 is a TOTAL BLAST.

The colors, the contrast, the everything…
I just can’t wait to connect the home theatre.

So, for Best Buy aisle for the 360 I give a 2.5.
For Magnolia, a 9.5, if not a 10.

The Order Process was Great. No Errors in any way shape or form. I ordered a “” NETGEAR SUPER G WIRELESS PCMCIA 108 MB CARD “” It was Shipped out the Next day and Arrived when Stated. For the First time Ordering from Best Buy they Did a Great Job. It was also Well Packed with NO Damage at all. Worked Perfectly on my Laptop. So I think I would Try them Again.

My 4 month old Westinghouse HDTV died. I had purchased an in-house service plan so I called Best Buy. They provided me with the number for Westinghouse and told me that they had now met their contract obligations. Whatever occured next was between me and Westinghouse.
